Territorial Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that this digital project is created and hosted on servers located
on the ancestral, unceded lands of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples. Our editors live around the world, many of them on the territories
of Indigenous peoples in Canada, the United States, Australia, and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
The Executive Summary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada calls us to become aware of the origins of colonial expansion and the racialization
of non-European peoples. We encourage educators and readers to learn about early histories
of race, especially from initiatives like RaceB4Race.
